    Gordon Harker’s 44 years in the construction industry reflect an outstanding career built on expertise, leadership, and contributions to iconic projects. Starting with Wimpey Homes and advancing through senior roles in multiple construction companies, Gordon’s impact has been substantial, managing businesses with £25 million turnovers and teams of up to 100. His work has been recognised widely in the industry, especially through his role as chair and judge for the CIOB Construction Manager of the Year Awards. As chair, Gordon has evaluated some of the UK’s most significant construction projects, including New Street Station in Birmingham and The Shard in London. His judgment and industry knowledge have earned him respect and influence, as he’s known for his dedication to construction excellence and ability to balance ambitious project goals with meticulous quality standards. Gordon’s extensive hands-on experience across various construction activities positions him as a trusted authority and a respected figure in the UK construction industry.

  • Ghaz Hussain

    With over 30 years in local government, primarily in senior planning and project management roles, Ghaz Hussain has significantly shaped Birmingham’s urban landscape. His success is evident in his leadership of transformative projects that have redefined Birmingham’s growth and appeal. Among his notable achievements, Park Central was recognised for its award-winning design and impact on urban regeneration, setting a benchmark for sustainable community development. Ghaz also played a critical role in the Langley and Peddimore urban extensions, which expanded residential and employment opportunities, further bolstering Birmingham’s appeal to businesses and families alike. His work on the Greater Icknield Growth Point contributed to large-scale urban renewal, enhancing connectivity and infrastructure in underutilised areas. Currently, Ghaz is consulting on a landmark project in Birmingham City Centre, where he is helping develop two of the city’s tallest towers. This pioneering project is set to deliver 2000 units of Build-to-Rent (BTR) and Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), addressing high demand and supporting the city’s status as a major hub for students and young professionals.
